Springfield Bloggers Excellent Adventure

Springfield Blogger's Excellent Adventure

The Illinois Bureau of Tourism hosted a family friendly blogger event on Saturday, September 13, 2008. It was a truly enjoyable event and I learned a lot about Lincoln and Springfield even though I've lived here for a couple decades. My thanks to the Bureau
and all the others who worked to make this event a success.

Top photo: Group photo of the cameras of some of the Springfield bloggers on this adventure.

Below: State Historian Tom Schwartz poses with the Lincoln Family at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum.

A few years ago I tried to get Richard Norton Smith to pose with the family on the opening day of the museum, but he refused when he found out it would likely end up on a blog.

Lincoln’s Ghost Walk hosted by Garret Moffett.

Below: Doesn't he look like he's heading to Cold Stone Creamery?

The Lincoln Bench statue in front of the Presidential Museum was sculpted by Mark Lundeen.
The paper Lincoln is holding shows a portion of his Second Inaugural Address.
