If you've traveled North on S. Sixth Street you've probably noticed that there is a detour at South Grand.

Here is what you can't see from there.

Not everyone is taking the detour... :)

The S. Sixth St. closure can't be a good thing for Springfield Clinic's neighbors.

The SJR reports that
"Sixth Street will be closed to all traffic at Scarritt Street starting
Monday so workers can place steel beams across the road as part of the
Springfield Clinic expansion project.

View map of the detour.

The closure is expected to last approximately 1 1/2 weeks, with
periodic closures happening during the remainder of September and the
first part of October.

Detour signs will guide traffic from Sixth and South Grand Avenue to
Fourth Street to Lawrence Avenue then back to Sixth Street. Motorists
also may use other streets such as Ninth Street or Second Street to
avoid the closure.

-- Staff report"
