After visiting the pets for adoption at the Sangamon County animal control center,
I traveled down Ash Street and found Suttill's Gardens.
I've purchased veggies from Suttill's stand at the Old Capitol Farmers Market
but just hadn't gotton around to visiting the actual store.
Look for the truck with this sign at the Old Capitol Farmers Market.
(Note: The Old Capitol Farmer's Market starts May 16 and the grand opening is on May 23 at 10 a.m)
Suttill's Gardens is really easy to miss...or suspect that you're on someone's private property, but this is really the place to shop for fantastic flower plants and vegetable plants, seeds and more.
Suttill's sells heirloom tomatoes, patty pan plants (I love those!), flowers, seeds, fresh veggies, honey and more.
These tomato plants are pretty kewl.
I think they're grape tomatoes, so the weight of the fruit won't break the stems.
I didn't buy one, but I really wanted to.
They have a lot of HUGE, sturdy tomato plants.
If you want tomatoes in a hurry, get some of these.
(Not pictured)
If you're looking for plants for your garden, I strongly recommend visiting Suttill's Gardens.
I am very impressed with what they have for sale.
