When the Rain comes down..downtown

Jefferson Street at Isringhausen's
after the rainstorm on June 23, 2007.

If you click on a photo for a larger view you'll note folks on either side of
Isringhausen's staring at the situation on Jefferson.

The train tracks were flooded at the local Amtrak station.

A lovely breeze traveled thru this rare open window during the storm
at the a/c free Lincoln Library.

Note the Old State Capitol and its reflection in the photo.

The speed dryer at Lincoln Library.

It might be an idea for the people who live/work near streets that flood to get the streets blocked off and then have some fun with a remote controlled toy boat...or just have a shark swim about. :)
These water toys were found at Atlantis Pools.

  1. Really great shots - especially Jefferson Street. We got some rain on the southeast part of town, but not anything like this (that I know of).

I used to work on the second floor at Sixth & Madison, f/k/a the old Paul Tick Warehouse, and witnessed many a flash flood come rushing down Madison quite like what you have pictured in front of Isringhausen.
