A staple of downtown Springfield in recent years, El Presidente Burritos reopened Monday at 1374 Toronto Road as EL PRESIDENTE BURRITOS & BAJA GRILL.

The new location in Southfield Commons strip mall has a more diverse menu than the downtown venue. In addition to burritos, enchiladas and chimichangas, items include burgers, fries, horseshoes and gourmet wraps such as Philly cheesesteak and Southwest chicken club.

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Phone: 529-7737.

“This place is three times the size of the old one,” said Tim Von De Bur, who owns the restaurant with Brandon Blough.

  1. Does anyone know if El Presidente closed permanently? The last two times I've been by, they have been closed. I hope that's not the case.
